The Geenty Group Brokers Land Sale to the US Fish & Wildlife Service

The Geenty Group, Realtors reports the sale of a 21.92 Acre land parcel at 551 Old Clinton Road in Westbrook. The sale price was $263,000.00. The land is comprised of untouched woodlands and saltwater marsh along the Menunketesuck River. It has been purchased by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service as an expansion of the adjacent 340-Acre Salt Meadow Unit of the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge and its mission “for the management, conservation, and protection of fish and wildlife resources along the Connecticut coast.” The Salt Meadow was the first piece of Federal Conservation land in Connecticut & serves as the Refuge’s headquarters. The Sanderson Family Limited Partnership, sellers of the property, are pleased that the land will be used to further the unique educational and viewing opportunities provided to the public of native shoreline birds, plants, and wildlife as well as the hundreds of species of migratory birds which visit the Refuge each year. Kevin Geenty was the sole broker in this transaction. Attorney Russell S. Brinn of Madison was the attorney for the Seller. Attorney David Tycz of Middletown was the attorney for the Buyer.
